What does the Professional Responsibility of a Physician and related professions cover?

The civil liability of the Insured Doctor/ Dentist/ Physiotherapist/midwife/nurse for personal injury or death that will cause his/her patients to his/her actions or omissions, as a result of an accident during the legal performance of his duties within the framework of his/her specialization, is covered.

In addition, the insured Doctor is compensated for the sums that he is legally required to pay as compensation for claims due to:

  • personal injury or death that the Insured will cause in the provision of first aid in a state of emergency, in addition to his specialization.
  • Use of radial machines for diagnostic reasons.

  • Use of machinery for diathemia and electrotherapy.

  • Performing minor surgeries in outpatient clinics.

  • Use of ionizing radiation.

  • Radial therapy (electromagnetic radiation carried out by linear accelerator or cobalt machine and/ or particle radiation) within the specialty of the physician Radiotherapist Oncologist and medical radiologist.

  • In the event that the insured person maintains a legal private practice in his name and carries out his duties there, the cover is extended to include personal injury and/or material damage as a result of an accident that may be caused to third parties, at the fault of the Insured, by the possession, use and general operation of the premises and facilities of his practice.

Legal Fees (e.g. lawyers' fees, legal fees, expert opinions).

The Company's liability limit also includes legal support costs and legal costs for the defense of the insured person in criminal courts, arising from a covered event of present professional liability, for negligent violations.
